Climate Change Survey

Dear teachers and students,

The Grade 12 Environmental Systems and Societies students are conducting a 10-minute face-to-face survey with selected students and teachers. We thank you in advance for taking the time to be interviewed. The interviewers will make sure data collected remains anonymous. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Mr Mello (luizmello@nanjing-school.com).

Thank you!

JAKARTA UPDATE

Last week, you might recall, we sent cards of support to the cleaners at JIS who are in prison convicted of a crime which did not happen. Since then, teachers Neil Bantleman and Ferdi Tjeong, who were acquitted of the same crime some months ago, had their acquittal overruled. Neil and Ferdi are now back in prison. CANADIANS, if you would like to take action, attached is a link to a letter which Neil’s brother Guy suggests that you might use (whole or in part or as basis for your own letter) to your Member of Parliament. Please ask me for any other details… Thanks! Lindy Buckley

NEAMC team

Please don’t forget to work through as many of the Individual Round questions as you can before next week. We’ll meet again on Monday to discuss our solutions and to practise some more Team Round questions. Finally, please remember to bring your passport to Monday’s meeting.

Sports Sign Ups

CISSA & ACAMIS Track & Field and SCISAC Basketball Sign ups on Veracross this week. Practices start next week. If you would like to sign up but have clashes, please speak to Mr Clarke to see if we can work out a schedule for you. Grade 7 & 8 have the option of doing CISSA or ACAMIS Track & Field (coaches may allocate you later based on your level). ACAMIS Track & Field and SCISAC Basketball events have a direct clash so you cannot do both.

Assembly Tomorrow!

Hello MYP/DP Students,

Remember to report to the PAC by 8am Friday morning for another action-packed assembly!

Will there be a lovely video going while you walk in? Yes. Will there be epic, but extremely brief awards speeches? Yes. Will there be a few classic pictures of your teachers as teenagers? Yes. Will Dr. Saavedra accost Mr. Fishel again? Maybe?!

See you there by 8:00am tomorrow!
