Calling ?Taiping Top Table Tennis Talent?

Next week is the first house event of the year. Let’s hit the ground running and remind the competition who’s boss; House Cup Champions for two years in a row: ??Taiping!? Let’s make it three!

If you are a G6-8, or G9-12 girl or boy who thinks they’re a ping pong pro, let your house captains know. If your friend is paddle proficient, encourage them to sign up.

Kostya T, Sarah N, Serena B, Pontus G, and Lara G are eagerly waiting to take names and select teams.

Even if Table Tennis isn’t your thing you still have an important role. Turn up, show support and cheer our players to victory.

Go Taiping!

A lil’ poem for all of the Gamers out there

Twas’ the day before Game Day,
and all through the school,
students were thinking,
“Do you know what would be cool?

To beat Mr Bratton, Ms. Bezzerides,
Mr. Lietz and my friends!
Tomorrow is the day,
I hope the fun never ends!’

From 1:00 to 1:30
In the new Game Room you see
“It’s gonna be AWESOME,” said Mr. Fischl,
“I bet you can’t beat me!”

The LEA – (Learning Alchemists Environment)

Greetings fellow academic-practitioners,

  • Do you bask in the perusal of readings, plus those suggested and referenced in said articles as well?
  • Do you love finding new ways of thinking?
  • Are you comfortable with cognitive dissonance?

If so, starting on September 8th, and continuing every
Thursday, in the Strategy Room
at Lunch
we will create a:
Learning Alchemists* Environment

We will:

  • Survey current, seminal, and even abject books on education, learning, and the periphery;
  • Analyse, elucidate, and debate Peer Reviewed articles;
  • Reflect on TED videos and the like;
  • Criticise and appraise current practice, gadgetry, and trends;
  • Share Ideas and “best practice";
  • Create an ongoing agenda as a group.

You need to:

  • Update your iPhones 😉
  • Be prepared for controversy and aha moments
  • Bring a lunch (Maybe we’ll order in sometime)
  • Do prior readings – or watchings (if called for)

You do not need:

  • To come every week or for the whole of lunch (You can drop in and leave any time)

For our first encounter, we will watch a video,
comment on and critique it,
and create an agenda of items, readings, and videos for the next few meetings.

Come one, Come all.
