Outdoor balls

It is great that so many students are playing out on the fields. There are a number of balls (football, rugby, basketball) that you can play with. To help everyone to find the ball of their choice (and to stop balls being left in the far flung corners of the school), please put the ball back into the basket when you have finished with it. Your friends and other students will appreciate your thoughtfulness!

Extended Essay – draft due June 2nd

Grade 11, As one door closes (exams…) another opens (Extended Essay…!). You have just over a week to finish up those first drafts and submit to your Supervisors. Remember that we are looking for quality drafts for your Semester Grades. I am attaching the Semester Grade criteria for your information.

Appropriate Language Usage

Dear teachers,

In the spirit of developing our appropriate language usage around NIS, there has been a fourth element to “Building a Caring Community” and that is the use of respectful language:

Reminding students and/or others, “That is inappropriate language, and that is not who we are” helps to hold a person accountable.  F.E. Aboud makes note that, “If name calling or other discrimination happens at school and goes either unnoticed or is not discussed by adults, students infer that the behavior is widely accepted.”
