ETC Field Test

ELL Intern

Esther Lee will be working as a Student-Teacher in ELL and Language Acquisition/Eng B. She starts Monday, October 24th and will finish just before Chinese New Year. She is enrolled in the Teach-Now teacher preparation certificate program, a virtual, collaborative, project-based learning program that leads to a teaching license and certificate in the US. She’s originally from Korea but her parents have settled in Nanjing. She’s fluent in Korean and Chinese. The students will call her Miss Esther. I’ve attached her photo so you don’t mistake her for a DP student!

After School Activities

Cycle 1 ASAs finished last Friday. Cycle 2 will begin on Monday October 30th. If you have any questions about Cycle 2 ASAs please contact Elaine Liu in the Activities Office.

November Performers

The upcoming big concerts are:

NIC Benefit Concert: November 18

RFG Winter Market: November 25

NIS Winter Concert: December 13

We are currently seeking soloists and small ensembles for these events. If you are interested, please check the following deadlines:

November Concerts Deadlines for the NIC:

November 3rd – audition the piece & receive feedback

November 10th – polished & perfect

December Concerts Deadlines for Soloists, Dancers, and Rock Bands:

If you choose to perform a piece from your November repertoire, then please keep it polished.

If you choose to perform a new piece, then please use these deadlines:

November 17th – give Miss Keus the name of your piece

November 24th – audition the piece & receive feedback. This will require practicing for two gigs at the same time.

December 9th, 09:00 – 10:30 a.m. – show polished piece to Miss Keus. This is a Saturday morning.

PS Assembly Seating Today

Students will be sitting on the floor in today’s Design Assembly! Please sit in grade level rows with Grade 5 furthest away from the stage. Thanks!

Inter house table tennis

Inter house table tennis is on at lunch time Monday the 30th October (after trip week).  Your house needs 2 girls and 2 boys from G6-8 and 2 boys and 2 girls from G9-12.  If you would like to represent your house please see your house captains.

PTA Autumn Festival Student Helpers today -Friday

Please come to the PTA Room at your scheduled time and be on time…..The PTA Room is over by Ms Northcott’s Admissions Office in the Center. If you don’t know your start-time – check on Veracross.

You need to check-in and check-out with Ms Stine.

 

Leave your bags and belongings in your locker.

PYP library use during break and lunch

PYP students will now be able to come into the library to read and/or look at books on the following schedule:

Morning Breaks:
Open to G3-12 every day.
Open to G1-12 during inside break days.
 
Lunch Breaks:
From October 20-November 30 open to G1-12 every day.
 
Near the end of November, we will assess the prototype and decide to continue or modify the lunch time library access.

Check Your 3-Way Conference Schedule

Here is the way you can check your schedule for the three way conference.

1. Login to veracross teacher portal.  https://portals.veracross.com/nis

2. At the bottom of the list of “School Reports” which is at right side of the Veracross window, you will find “Teacher Conference Schedule“link. Please click on it and you will see your conference schedule.

Grade 6-12 Meetings Tomorrow Morning!

Hello Grade 6-12 Students,

You will have meetings tomorrow instead of Extended Advisory. Please check in with your advisor first, then head to the follow locations by 8:04am:

Grade 6 & 7: On the grass outside the PAC with Mr. Bratton and Ms. Bezzerides. Might need a jacket!

Soccer Tournament Helpers Wanted Nov 2nd,3rd and 4th

If you would like help with this Soccer Tournament on Nov 2-4 please sign up on Veracross. Please note that on Thursday and Friday you will need to miss class. Each student can only sign up for one session on Thursday or Friday. You can sign up for as many as you like on Saturday.
