PYP Exhibition

Yesterday the G5 students presented their assembly 3 times and spent the evening sharing their learning with their parents. It was a very successful evening! Thank you to all involved!

You have an opportunity to see the projects today! The PYPX  provides our community with a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the transition of our oldest PYP learners to the next phase of their education. Please come and celebrate with us!

PYP Exhibition Morning – K2-G10 Here is the schedule:

PYPX

We look forward to the PYP Exhibition on Friday 8:20-12:30. Everyone is invited to attend!

PS and the Leavers’ March

Primary Teachers: A Middle School student will come by your classroom around 9:15 to give you a 5-minute warning that the Leaver’s March is going to begin.

Please have your students come out into the hallway and line the hallways. (Organize where you will stand ahead of time so that there is an even distribution in the hallways.) Leave room for the G12 students to walk through.

G12 students will walk from the PAC, past the LS room, past the G5s, G4s, down the EY hallway, turn into the G1 and 2 hallway and then out to the Spider Web.

The PS students will clap as the G12 Leavers pass by.

PS House Event Today

Grades 1-5HULA HOOP CHALLENGE! BLUE GYM

Who? All PreK-G5 students, teachers, and specialists.

Café in Centre closed to PreK-G5 after school

Please remind the students up to G5 that the Café in the centre is closed to them after school unless they have a parent supervising them.

YES:

– buy a drink and a snack in the lunch cafeteria after school

– wait for swim squad in the lunch cafeteria after school (Tuesdays and Thursdays)

– accompany a parent to the Café in the Centre and stay with that parent

No:

– go to the Café in the Centre with a friend to buy a drink and a snack

– run around the Café with a friend after school

PS break time

We need to all be sending the same message – the students have two choices only:

  1. outside or
  2. gym (G3-5 only) ten minutes after dismissal from the cafeteria.

Encourage students to take their water bottles and hats outside and to find a shady place under a tree or in the cool bamboo forest.

Many students are wandering the hallways or going to their classrooms to play. If the weather “feels like” 40 degrees or more, we go to hot weather protocol. Otherwise, let’s send a common, clear message and support the students with reminding language. Outside or Gym. Thank you.

Library Closed to PS students at break times

Break times have been pretty good this week. Thank you to all the teachers who support our students by redirecting and reminding them. Please do remind you students that the library is closed at break times (morning and lunch) because we don’t have a librarian in there yet. Thank you!

Student Visitors Forms

If you have a student requesting to bring a visiting friend to class, they will need to collect a student visitors form from Reception. They fill it out and submit it to Reception as well. There is a minimum two days notice.

PS break times outside today

The weather has cooled down a little so we will go with a full outdoor lunch break today. Please remind your students:

  1. The Green Gym is open at 1:20 (NOT 1:10, therefore the students must go outside for 10 minutes before going to the gym).
  2. The library is closed to PS as we do not have duty cover in there yet.

If you are not on duty, please support the students by reminding them to stay outside during break times. Discuss possible break time activities in class with your students. Thanks!
