Students/Adults Community Activities – Thursday night volleyball

Thursday night volleyball activity registration on Veracross are open now!

Grade7 and above students/ Parents/Staff can sign up on Veracross. Practices are on Thursdays night from 18.30 to 20.00 starting November 26th, this Thursday.

School will only allow students/ parents shown in the list to enter school, everyone must come with their ID card (especially for adults) , NO ID CARDS NO ACCESS.

No parking – E bikes and bicycles ok.

Masks to be worn on entry and temperature check.

Community Activities – Tabata lessons for adults only

Tabata lessons for adults only (NIS Parents& Staff) will start during week 18.

Tabata is a high intensity interval training. It helps to burn lots of calories and work with the muscles. Great way to stay in shape.And of course loads of fun!
  • Every Tuesday Morning 9:00-10:00 starts from December 1st , NIS parents only and follows as below lists:

December 1st, 8th,15th/ January 12th, 19th, 26th/ February 2nd, 9th – 8 lessons

  • Every Wednesday Morning 8:30-9:30 starts from December 2nd , NIS parents only and follows as below lists:

December 2nd, 9th,16th/ January 13th, 20th, 27th – 6 lessons

  • Every Saturday Morning 9:00-10:00 starts from November 28th , NIS parents and staff only and follows as below lists:

December 5th, 12th/ January 16th, 23rd, 30th/ February 6th. – 6 lessons

Online bookfair!

Since we won’t be having a physical bookfair before Winter Break, why don’t you try the online bookfair Obido is offering? Books are available in English and Chinese for all ages and will be delivered directly to your home. Scan the QR code to see what is available!

Choir Rescheduled!

We’ve had lots of interest in the choir restarting… but on Friday afternoons!

Your wish is my command!  Choir has been moved to Fridays. This is for staff and students, so teachers are welcome to join as well.

6B Design

Dear Students in 6B, please go to room D340 for your Design class today. Your new teacher for this trimester will be Mr Wang. Yay!!

Food and drink in class

Students in Grades 6-12; here is a Monday Morning Mind Teaser: Can you bring food and drink into your classes? Can you eat your breakfast in Advisory? Can you carry a can of coke in your bag and pull it out when you are thirsty in class? What about a quick munch on a banana if you are peckish in class?

The answer to all of these is:no.

You may bring water to class. You may eat during break and lunch.

 

GCD Launch to G9 Today

Grade 10 students and the Grade 9 Leadership Team will launch the GCD (Global Citizen’s Diploma) to G9 students to day at 11.45am in the PAC. G9 students will be treated to a range of stories connected to the GCD competencies and core values from Grade 10 students in camp fire style groupings. If any teachers are free at this time and would like to take part or observe to find out more about the GCD, please come along. All staff (from across the school) are welcome.

Here are two statistics related to violence against children from the UN website for you to discuss:

  • 246 million children worldwide affected by school-related violence each year.
  • 1 in 3 students has been bullied by their peers at school in the last month, and at least 1 in 10 children have experienced cyberbullying.
