Middle School Band

Middle School Band starts on Monday, Day 3!

If you can play a band instrument, then we’d love to have you join our middle school band. You must be able to play one of these instruments: Woodwinds (clarinet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, flute), Brass (trumpet, baritone, french horn, tuba, trombone), Strings (violin, viola, cello, contrabass), or percussion (bells, chimes, bass drum, triangle, snare drum, etc.)

(Just one of them — NOT ALL OF THEM!!!)

We perform in assemblies and at concerts throughout the year (Winter, Music Evening, Summer, etc.) Our practices are on Mondays after school and we’d love you to come in the upcoming week!

Please come to M252 to see Miss Keus and to get more information.

MSUS Awards Assembly screening today

Calling all MSUS students, teachers and parents!

Today we will screen our Semester 2 Awards Assembly at 2.15pm.

All students and Advisors should make their way to Advisory classrooms at 2pm ready to be seated for the 2.15pm start. The assembly lasts for 1hour.

This formal part of the end of the semester is a time honoured tradition at NIS and one of the ways we come together as a community to celebrate student achievements.

Reminder: Full Day Friday

A friendly reminder to students that Friday will be a full school day with dismissal at the usual times. Of course we will still have our assemblies, House Shield presentation, and yearbook signing, but this year we will add Break, Lunch, and some extra time with your teachers. Please remind your parents :-). Thanks!

I Feel Good!

Do you feel good about finishing the year on a high and going into the summer holidays? If so, then sing, dance, or perform your joy! The NIS Community Rock Band (teachers, students, parents, etc.) are putting together a performance of James Brown’s “I Feel Good.”  This will be a virtual / online performance (multi-screen performance).

If you’d like to join, then please contact Ms. Keus who send you rehearsal files. We’ll need all the videos in by Monday morning of this upcoming week.

Here’s a YouTube sample to help you familiarise yourself with the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lrv-Morm-c0

ELL Toolkits

Dear MYP Teachers,

Please return your ELL toolkit to either Ruth or the Library before Tuesday next week. This will enable us to update the name charts for next school year. They are all in blue plastic folders and have a barcode.

Thanks very much!

Can you operate a sewing machine?

Calling all sewing machinists…..

We have 4 new sewing machines in school all set up and ready to go. We just need experts to help us to support the students showing them how to use them and how to take care of them. Can you help?

Please let Ruth or Anna know if you are willing to offer your time and skills! Many thanks.
