Schedule Update for Friday

There have been a few updates to Friday’s INSET schedule based on a change to the Amazing Race activity due to the heat.

This will result in a bit more planning time for teachers on the day and an opportunity to achieve the goals of the Race in a shorter time slot, here at NIS, and without going outside… much.

Members of the Amazing Race planning team (Gretchen, Darren, Bella, Laurel, and Paul) will make short announcements at the Primary, G9-12 Advisory, and XBlock team meetings this morning with details. Please see this team with questions.

Many Thanks!

Strategy Session

INSET Schedule Preview: Open When Ready!

Hello All,

A warm welcome and welcome back to everyone! We hope the holiday was outstanding and that you are excited for the year ahead. One of the best things about a break is the perspective it brings, which can help us appreciate just how wonderful our special little learning community really is!

Attached is our schedule for August INSET and our opening week with students. Please have a look when you are ready to flip the switch into work mode. As always, another handy resource is our STAFF FOLDER, which is updated and awaiting your queries. Why not make bookmarking this essential repository your first formal act of the new school year?!

We’ll plan to start in earnest at 8:00am on Wednesday morning with what has become our traditional breakfast gathering in the cafeteria and go from there.

See you soon!

IT Training Sessions for New Staff Today!

Hello New-to-NIS Colleagues,

A reminder that tech training sessions are planned for today in the MS/US LGR (the same space we utilized for yesterday’s SET moment). Because you are traveling to acquire SIM cards in two groups today, tech sessions will repeat at 9:00am (group two) and  1:30pm (group one). This and future “Planning for Learning” meetings are outlined in the Planning for Learning Session Details document.

The focus of today’s IT sessions will be a look at our Edublog/Daily Bulletin features, and an overview of Veracross. Please feel free to check in with your friendly neighborhood SET for any assistance whatsoever today and beyond.

See you soon!
