Grade 7

Physical Education in Grade 7 focuses on the development and application of specific  locomotor, non locomotor, and manipulative skills as well as reviewing and developing theorical knowledge of rules and health-related topics.

In the 1st semester this is achieved through participation in aquatic activities, jump rope composition and net games.  In the 2nd semester students further develop their movement composition skills to create a group gymnastic composition, participate in track & field events in preparation for Athletics Day and further develop and refine tactics through the use of the principles of play in invasion games. Health-related activities runs for the whole year and covers; fitness components, basic training of fitness components and body systems – specifically the muscular & skeletal system. The emphasis for the course is on developing the skills to lead and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
