This year in grade 9  Spanish , phase 2 and 3 students are studying together; they are taught the same topics and vocabulary but are given differentiated class assignments and end of unit tests.

The units of study in 2013-14 are:

    – Describing your city.

    – Dates and practices
    – Celebration props
    – Food specialties
  • Environment
    – Eco-friendly accommodations
    – Nightmare holiday
    – Weather
  • Financial management
    – Routine and chores
    – Pocket money
    – Part-time jobs
  • Movie appreciation (Grade 9 IDU)
    – Buying tickets; movie types and terminology
    – Understanding and analyzing clip
    – Movie reviews

Last year at NIS you studied:

Grade 8 Phase 1/2 Spanish:

Family: family members, pets and physical descriptions

School: subjects, objects and schedule

Environments: places in town, locations and directions

Food and Drinks: foods, ordering from a restaurant, healthy foods
