Music Room Closures

Like PE, the music department is completing its year-end inventory and making any maintenance repairs needed.

The rooms will be closed during all breaks, lunches, and after school for the rest of the school year. The exceptions are for students still rehearsing for performances. These include:

  • Trycicle, A Major, and Any Moment (3 rock bands)
  • Private lesson students with Mr. Liu
  • Interhouse Music Competition students who are supervised by house or music teacher
  • Orchestra & Choir

A long list? It basically means that people can’t come to hang out in the music department because we are busy rehearsing or doing the inventory / repairs. Those working on a specific performance still need to come and rehearse.

Thanks for your understanding,

Miss Keus

Piano Recital – June 5th

Miss Yang, a local piano teacher, is organising a piano recital on June 5th from 1:30 – 3:00 in M251, which is the middle music room. While this recital predominantly features her own NIS music students, she is very happy to have other pianists come and share their talents. If you would like to perform, then please audition for Miss Keus by Wednesday, June 1st.

Work Experience Week for Grade 10

Work Experience Week is upon us, so the corridors upstairs will be quieter than usual this week. Please don’t forget to connect with your Grade 10 students via their blog if you have been allocated a couple! This connection with school is vital, as not all students can receive a visit.

Please let Robin or I know if someone is not blogging daily and we will reach out to them.

Please interact with the information they provide and ask questions to get them thinking about their role, the work they are doing and the impact they may be having.

Thanks for all your extra work on this.
