Secondary Exam Week Wellness Activities

Your Student Council is organizing a series of activities to keep you balanced during next week’s exam week. The first is an opportunity for students in grades 8, 9, 10 and 11 to practice yoga with our wonderful university counselor, Ms. Pearl during Monday and Wednesday’s Advisory period.

Monday, Dec. 5 (Grades 8 and 9)

Wednesday, Dec. 7 (Grades 10 and 11)

Sessions will take place in the second floor above the library during Advisory (10:30-11:00). If you are interested, please sign up here. Each session is limited to 20 participants so first come, first serve.

Pfrang Giving Tree Card Sale

From now until the December break, the Pfrang Service as Action group will be selling gift cards for RMB 100 a piece (cash, WeChat, or Alipay) to benefit the 270 students sponsored by the Pfrang Association charity. Please consider supporting this worthy cause by purchasing a card from Nicole Cao, Lucy Kim, Alice Lee, Yeeun Min, Zhuoan Wu, Charlie Gu, Leo Lu, or Mr. Orteza. Cards are also available at the Pfrang table in the center foyer from 7:40-7:55, Tuesday to Friday. Important: If paying by QR code, please write “Giving Tree” in the “Add Note” or “Add Remarks” section in order for your donation to be credited to this project.

Homework Club today: Peer Tutors are ready to help

Calling all Secondary students Grades 6- 12! Homework Club in C142 (the Learning Support area) is open every Monday and Wednesday for you to go and get help with your homework or exam preparation.

Today our new peer tutors will be there, ready to assist you. They are super helpful, can answer questions, show you how to approach a task and support with organisation and Managebac.

Come along to Homework Club today and meet our new peer tutors.

Secondary NAT Timing Change!

Starting today, Grades 6-10 should go to their Block Two class, drop off their bags and head down to the PAC Foyer for testing.

Grades 11 and 12 will test at the usual 9:00am-end-of-Block-One timing, then head to Block Two.

Fall MAP Reports

Student progress reports from our Fall MAP testing session are being sent to families this week via email. Kasson will also run a virtual parent session on Thursday morning, December 1st at 9:30am.

The reports being sent home can be found on the server. More nuanced and useful reports for us to use as educators can be found by logging in to the NWEA site. Our log-ins are the same as for all NIS platforms. Please see the IT team with any log-in questions.

We will focus on leadership skills and unconscious bias as we seek to support students to be successful in thier current leadership role.
