8th Grade – artist visit on Thursday

8th graders will work with Jenny Wang, visiting artist, upstairs in the cafeteria during block 2 on Thursday, NOT in the LGR as originally scheduled. Please bring a drawing notebook (or regular notebook or paper), pencil, and eraser to the session, since you will be sketching.

Friday Dance Party

PTA invites primary and middle school students to our Dance this Friday, November 9 in the Black Box.
Grades 2-5 is 4:30-6:00pm
Grades 6-10 is 7:00-9:00pm
Tickets are 20rmb each and includes snack and drink. Tickets will be on sale before and after school this week , Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
-Grade 9 and 10s are welcome also😃
It will be a groovin’ fun time!

URGENT-WHOLE CAST PRODUCTION MEETING

Can all students invloved in the production come to a meeting at break time TODAY(Wednesday)  in the black box. ( This includes actors, musicians, dancers, tech crew, students helping with set design, EVERYONE!)

MAP Info Going Home Today

Hello All,

A reminder that Fall MAP reports and an explanation letter are going home to Grade 3-10 parents today. The letter (attached here) has information for parents about how to interpret student scores. MAP reports for all Grade 3-10 students is located here as well.

Please see any member of SET with questions. A parent Q&A session is happening next week as well. The central message for parents is that these scores are a snapshot diagnostic, not a rich “photo album” of student progress. 

Many Thanks to Advisors and Grade 3-5 classroom teachers for getting these home with students today!

XFEST Block 3 (10:30-11:30) Tuesday 6th November

Block 3 (10:30 – 11:30am)

Grades 6, 7 and 8 will be sharing their work, the processes and next steps of their X-block projects. It is an opportunity for all members of the school community to come and hear from the students about their learning. Students will be working in the Design Centre, Upstairs of the Cafeteria, Music rooms and D342. Look out of the posters directing you where to go! Everyone is welcome.

Thank you for the activities that you are offering our students.

 

Just a gentle reminder that if you are absent on a day you run an activity (for whatever reason, PD, sick etc), you have 2 choices:

1) ask a kind colleague to cover for you

2) cancel the ASA/club by emailing the parents and cc’ing me before 10 am on the day of the activity

 

Please be mindful of the finishing time. Let’s make sure the bus students get on the bus! On Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays, the bus leaves at 4.30 pm and on Tuesday it leaves at 4:00 pm.

Thanks for your continued support. Also please let us know what we can do in the Activities Office to support you.
