Criterion D: Evaluating

Create a section in your book for Criterion D. Each of the following tasks will be the ‘chapters’ of this section of the book. Use the features of Book Creator: you can embed video, Padlets, insert video and audio that you make of your own reflections, add photographs. 

Make it very clear that you are responding to each section using the headings listed below.

D1: Design Testing Methods

What?

Design a test for all success criteria, recording the results data, and providing proof of testing.

Why?

How successful your game is, is in the hands of the people who play it. You want to gather their input based on the criteria you made earlier in the unit.

How?

  • Go back to your success criteria.
  • For each criteria write a question to be answered by people who play your game.
  • Create your survey using FORMS.

D2: Evaluate the Success

What?

Explain how successful your game is based on the data you have collected.

Why?

Reflecting on the data you gather will help you see where you were successful as a game designer and areas you could improve in.

How?

Respond to the following prompts: 

  • Overall, I feel my game is (how) successful.
  • The feedback that supports this claim is (list evidence from survey).
  • These responses prove the game is as successful as I claim because  (why)…

D3: Improvements

What?

Outline how the game could be improved.

Why?

Reflection on the qualities of your game is needed in order to determine improvements still to be made.

How?

Complete the following: 

  • Image of part to be improved (photograph)
  • The problem here is (what)
  • I could improve this part by (doing what)

D4: Impact

What?

Outline the impact of the game on the client/ target audience.

Why?

The goal of creating a game was to solve a problem. It is worth reflecting on whether you actually did.

How?

Respond to the following prompts: 

  • I feel my game would have a (how big) an impact for (who).
  • The impact it could have on them would be (what) because (why), (what) because (why), and (what) because (why).
