Topic 1: Addressing espionage in the digital age

Esteemed delegates, directors, student officers, and guests,  

Welcome to GA1! My name is Harang Liu, and I am currently a sophomore at Lycée Français de Shanghai (LFS). It is my absolute honor to be serving as your president for the upcoming NISMUN conference, the Modern Renaissance.  

I have participated a total of 6 MUN conferences, both as a chair and as a delegate. I would like to use those experiences and assist you through your resolutions and debate. I believe that through this committee, not only will you develop your debate and public speaking skills, but you will also gain a broad understanding of the conflicts our world is facing right now. It is up to you, delegates, at this time, at the conference, to make a change and stand up for what you believe in, as a representative of your specific country.  

I will be focusing on the topic “addressing espionage in the digital age.” I look forward to our three days of fruitful debate and collaboration, and I hope we will all have an amazing time together at NISMUN!
