NISMUN has been held at Nanjing International School for three years. We are excited to continue this ongoing history of MUN at our school and are thrilled to invite schools from throughout China to meet on March 14-16, 2025.

The Modern Renaissance

We have come to a day and age where change must be induced to sustain our world as we know it. The globe is rampant with war, injustice, and conflict, and many states are still recovering from traumatic events of the past, while others are living through painful realities. The current world order, highly influenced by post-World War II efforts, is destabilizing in light of shifting sociopolitical tides.

The 15th-century European Renaissance was, at its core, a rebirth: a transformation of ideals and beliefs that ultimately changed how we think and live our lives today. It was the cause of great artistic, scientific, and philosophical innovations. In essence, the Middle Ages was the period before this great change. During those times, we wondered, and now, today, contemplate: while death sweeps our communities, technology advances at a disquieting pace, and beliefs deviate from what we were taught as truth. What will come next?

One could argue the modern world is in need of a Modern Renaissance, a revival of our world where pillars of our society may fall. But, we will emerge stronger.
