Ting Ting School for the Hearing Impaired 南京市雨花台区婷婷聋童幼儿园

We are looking for students help on and off campus with children with hearing disabilities. NIS has a very long relationship with Ting Ting School. We plan on visiting their school on 2 Saturdays and hope to welcome them to NIS to play on 2 other Saturdays between now and the end of the school year.

This is your chance to Burst the Bubble. Get outside your comfort zone. Practice your Mandarin. Demonstrate your art skills. Show the world you care.

Students in grades 6-12 would be able to count this as volunteering. (In g11-12, you could count this as C, A or S or all three!) You get to choose the activities we do and the snacks we eat. You may even decided to collect donations of some type.

It would be amazing if a student-leader spoke Mandarin so Ms Anna wouldn’t need to rely on WeChat translate!

This is your chance to stand up, take the lead and make a difference. This opportunity is also open to all NIS staff and faculty.

Let’s work together to give back to the community.

Donate used books

Do you have used books at home that you no longer read?  This is a great opportunity to clear up your shelf space!  Bring in your used books and donate them to a Chinese migrant school in Chongqing.  We are looking for both Chinese and English books for primary school children.  Drop off your books in the white bin in the Centre or bring them to Ms. Moen’s room, D213.
