SCAD Virtual Visit (Savannah College of Art and Design)

All interested students in Grades 11 and 12:

This Friday, November 6th, we are having a virtual college visit from SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design), which has campuses in Hong Kong, the US and other places around the world.

Please attend this session to learn more about the 40 majors offered, the application process, portfolio submission and scholarship opportunities available.

NIS is very familiar with SCAD, as we have had quite a few graduates go on to study its programs.

Weekend events

Volleyball – boys improved immeasurably; sense of buoyance at the competition and outstanding throughout the weekend. Boys came in second (all-stars – Pierson Fielke; Andy He); girls determined and showed fortitude, coming through third (all-stars – Eva Clarke and Katy Wong; team awarded sportswomen of event).

Chinese debate competition – we made the top 8 and we are back and involved this Saturday coming. Wonderful efforts and achievements by our students!

Autumn Festival – thanks to everyone who came along to support; 500 parents and students. Great night!

DP Music – virtual IB workshop for the Grade 11 students (Friday – Sunday, 3pm to 9pm each day). Sterling efforts.

Overall, moving forward with very few people off campus and people returning. After winter break, we are hoping the majority are on campus.

Service as Action – Assembly Rehearsal TODAY

There will be an assembly rehearsal today for Service as Action at 12:30, which is immediately following the production checkup. Miss Keus and Mr. Winstanley’s group must come with their PPTX ready to share as well as their sewing samples (swatches and t-shirts).
