You are cordially invited to visit the DP Art Exhibition with your class during school hours this week starting from noon today (Tuesday, April 12). The exhibition is the culmination of hard work over two years under the IB Diploma Visual Arts course and we would love for you to come celebrate the Grade 12 artists’ amazing artistic achievements at your convenience.

When? Tuesday, April 12 (noon) to Friday, April 15 (3PM)
Where? The Centre 3F

P.S. While you’re there, please make sure to check out the beautiful artworks created by our G11 artists (from their own personal collections).

P.P.S. We have not forgotten you, our treasured DP parents and Primary-G6 students/faculty members; we regret not having you on-campus to celebrate with us in person, but we have plans to document the exhibition in video / photography format to share with you soon.

STAFF BOARD MEMBER

Dear Colleagues,

Angela Romero is the current Staff Board Member. She is coming to the end of her two year tenure. She is interested in remaining on the Board for the next two years, however there is a process to allow any other interested staff members to put their name forward to join the Board. Practice until now at NIS has been that the staff member is a teacher.

If you are interested please write to the Chair of Governance Committee, Ellen Wieck-Mesarosch – EllenWieck@web.de . If you would like to know more about the role please contact Angela Romero or Ellen. The two staff members of the 9 person Board do not have voting rights. No member of the Board is a representative of any group or community, however the Board seeks diversity of membership in order to bring a range of views and perspective to discussions. Here is the link to the Governance section of our website – https://www.nischina.org/about/governance

Timeline:

April 14 – nominations close

April 18 – meeting with Governance sub-committee on Board membership

April 19 – Election (if necessary)

May 21 – Board Retreat and training with Governance Consultant

NAT Testing at School This Week

Hello Grade 7-12 Students,

Government regulations now require us to complete NAT testing for 50% of all on-campus students each day. To accomplish this, healthcare workers will conduct daily testing in the Green GYM between 9:05 and 9:40am.

Students in Grades 7-9 will test on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday this week and Grades 10-12 on Tuesday and Thursday. We will follow the timings below:

Timing Mon/Wed/Fri Tuesday/Thursday
9:05am (students should head to the testing site directly from Block One) Grade 7 Grade 10
9:15am Grade 8 Grade 11
9:25am Grade 9 Grade 12

Cafe Closed, Cafeteria Open

Welcome back Grade 7-12 Students,

Please note that the cafeteria is the place to be for break and lunch this week. Since the cafe is closed and off-campus lunching is a no-no, please enjoy your break and lunchtime experience in the lovely NIS cafeteria. Bask in the sunshine on the patio, enjoy the plentiful options in the Deli Marche, select from the variable cornucopia of dining options. See you there!

Every Day is Monday… Sort of…

Hello Grade 7-12 Students.

This week we will follow the same daily schedule each day. Our normal Monday, Wednesday, Thursday timings will also apply Tuesday and Friday. This also means that we will have a 3:00pm dismissal on Tuesday this week.

Have a great day!
