EARCOS Nomination for G11 Global Citizenship Award

A quick reminder to teachers to nominate a G11 student for the EARCOS award.

Please fill in this form before Tuesday, March 28th, 4 pm.

Do you any students who:
– will be completing his/her penultimate year (the year before graduation, generally 11th grade).
– is conversant in at least two languages.
– understands the interdependence and interconnectedness of both human and ecological issues.
– demonstrates strong collaborative, problem-solving, listening, and consensus-building skills.
– strives to be well-informed on global issues.
– consistently demonstrates a sense of intrinsic voluntarism
– exhibits extraordinary leadership skills.
– is committed to being an active participant in the coming year’s leadership responsibilities.
– is in “good academic standing”.

 

GCD stories

Students in G9, G10 and G11 are reminded AGAIN that their GCD stories for Semester 2 must be completed and submitted before May 22.

Sign up for an interview before all the time slots are gone.

Grade 9s need a total of 2 stories by May 22.

Grade 10s need a total of 4 stories by May 22.

Grade 11s need a total of 8 stories, 1 project and 5 outcomes.

Primary Athletics Day – THIS THURSDAY!

We look forward to seeing Grade 2 to 5 parents and family members this Thursday, for our annual Primary School Athletics Day.

We will be kicking things off from 10.30 with two hours of track and field events, followed by a 1 hour lunch break.

Our athletes will return at 1.45 for team challenges followed by a relay event.

A reminder for students to wear sports attire, running shoes and have a water bottle, hat and of course be wearing their house shirt!

In the event of wet weather and/or high AQI we will postpone the event to a later date.

Early Years Field Day – THIS FRIDAY!

This Friday all PreK to Grade 1 parents and family members are invited to join in our Early Years Field Day celebration!

Our young learners have been excitedly preparing for this event, to showcase and teach their developing athletic and sports skills to their parents. We highly recommend you to join in and enjoy time playing, inquiring and learning with the children.

Please come dressed in comfortable sports attire and be ready to join in the fun! Also please ensure students have a water bottle, a hat and are wearing their house shirt.

From 8.30 to 10.05 groups will rotate throughout each station. We will then move to the running track for a 50 meter running race by homerooms.

  • PreK-K1 Spiderweb & Grassed Area
  • Grade 1 Football Field

Textile Workshop For NIS Staff!

Hello, I am Sophia from G12 art class. I am hosting an art workshop related to my art exhibition (the one with the colorful dress) from the 27th to the 31st of March. If you are interested in creating a collaborative piece of artwork with me, G8, and G6, and experience with a various range of textiles, please sign up through the link below. NIS Voices and Spaces is organizing a sound booth/listening booth for songs with inclusive messages. Contribute by adding your own favorite inclusive songs. Please make sure the songs are school appropriate (no profanities, swearing).

Travel Documentation Update G5-12 Students

We need your travel documentation updated on OpenApply. https://nis.openapply.cn/parents/sign_in Check with your parents that they have done this. If they haven’t, please help ASAP.

We need all the travel information for Discover China!!!!

If you have a Chinese/HK/Macau/Taiwan or Foreigner Resident Card, please upload that information. That is the ID you must use when travelling in China.

If you don’t have one of the ID cards mentioned above, please upload foreign passport information, along with a valid visa.

What to do now that CISSA Volleyball and Badminton are done?

I have the answer!!   CISSA & ACAMIS Track & Field!  Why not try some running, jumping and throwing out on the track? It is lots of fun! We will have trips to Shanghai for CISSA and to Suzhou for ACAMIS (for the older ones). Sign up on SchoolsBuddy and meet the coaches on the track on Mondays and Wednesdays at 3.15pm.
