Ultimate Frisbee

Come try something new!

Ultimate Frisbee is a fun, fast-paced game where you get to run, throw, and catch a flying disc with your friends (Activity) . It teaches teamwork and fairness, as players make their own calls without referees.

This could be the Activity you need for your CAS if you are in Grade 11 or 12. If this is new to you…you could achieve the outcome “challenge and new skills” or “ethics” because there is no referee.

RECRUITING FOR NISSAC

NISSAC is looking for people from grade 9-10. We organize events at NIS, such as Sports Awards Evening, Sports Competitions and more. The meetings are every Wednesday during lunch 2. NISSAC counts as CAS, volunteering, and it looks good on your resume. You can also use it for one of your GCD stories. If you are interested in applying for NISSAC, please scan this QR code. Speak to Lizzie or Soojin for more information.

Applications close this Friday, August 23rd.

COME TO A MEETING ON WEDNESDAY IN D228, LUNCH 2 FOR MORE INFORMATION.

PAC bookings and use

If you’re considering using the PAC (Theatre, Black Box, Drama Classroom, PAC Foyer) for any reason please take a look at the attached handbook.

In essence, make sure that you have cleared it with Sam first. Any bookings made through the new Teams Ticket system need to have Sam’s confirmation first.

The Theatre is a ‘first come, first served’ venue so please book through Sam as soon as you can, even if your event isn’t until June 2025! Please do not assume that if it’s in the calendar it’s been booked. To avoid disappointment and a waisted trip, please do not use the Theatre unless you have booked it first.

How to book? Just send Sam an email! Or pop into the Black Box office to have a chat. He’s actually quite friendly and always ready to see how he can help!

Calling for Volunteers for the House Kick-Off Assembly!

Good morning all,

We are looking for staff representatives from each house from both Primary and Secondary to help with leading house activities next Friday during the house kick-off assembly. Like last year, each house will have a kick off meeting with students from across the schools working together.

We already have the plan for the activities in those house groups; we just need some enthusiastic staff members to help lead them with each group to generate team-work and hype for the year to come. Student leaders and ambassadors will also be there to help. If you are interested in helping with the houses more long-term, that is even better, but for now, we are only looking for a commitment for next Friday’s assembly.

Please email me if you are willing! We will have a short meeting during Tuesday’s meeting time to go through the plan for Friday morning.

Thank you! Sara
