Teachers and Staff-
Be sure to stop by the library to pick up a good book for the break!
We have received some new, award-winning nonfiction and there is a display at the back with some recommended fiction titles.
Hope to see you in the library.
The Library will be holding a used book sale of weeded library books to make room for the 650 new books that arrived a few weeks back.
Be sure to stop by Tuesday through Thursday this week. On Friday, all leftover books will be donated to a local school.
The Library Staff
Hi Teachers-
The library has several boxes of discarded magazines available to go to classrooms. Many of them have great cut-up/collage potential.
Please stop by the library office and take what you want- the rest will be given away at the Used Book Sale next week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Thanks-
Michelle
Congrats to our Revolting Recipe Risk-Takers who bravely tasted the G2 and K2 recipes (chocolate chips swimming in baked beans?!) on Roald Dahl Day last week. Please come to the library to claim your book prize:
Any students in Gr.6, 7 or 8 interested in learning more about the ACAMIS Kids Read competition should come to a brief informational meeting TODAY (Wednesday) in the library at the start of lunch (12:50). The meeting will be just to explain more about the competition- no commitment is necessary at this point. If you are interested but can’t make the meeting, please send Mrs. Rinker an email. Hope to see you there!
The library is looking for avid readers in Grades 6-8 who are interested in representing NIS at the annual ACAMIS Kids Read competition to be held February 16 & 17 in Tianjin.
If you love to read and have a brain that does well remembering details and trivia, then this is the team for you!
Our first informational meeting will be held on Wednesday September 7 at lunch (12:50) in the library. Please see Mrs. Rinker for more information.
Thanks for bringing back your books!

The library is entering a busy time at the end of the year due to deliveries of newly arrived materials and our annual inventory. Please make every effort to return the library and resource room trolleys promptly if you borrow them. Also- we are missing many of our white tubs- thanks for looking around your classroom for any that you might have.
Thanks and have a good week-
The Library Staff
Great to see so many teachers and parents enjoying the magazine collection in the library…. but… please notify the desk when you take them and return them when you are done. Many issues of one of our newest magazines, Runner’s World, are missing and we like to keep some copies in the library so others may enjoy them too.
Be sure to stop by and check out some of our great new titles this year!
Following up on yesterday’s post on Student Library Logins, here is a link to complete step-by-step information on how to get set up with the Overdrive eBooks in the library http://share.nanjing-school.com/library/overdrive/
Note that Overdrive requires a second login (after your initial login to the library). You can search for books in the library catalog and the site will direct you to the Overdrive website to check-out the books.
Let us know if you need help getting started!
