Life 101 Locations – Please share with new students

Dear Students and Teachers,

If you have a new students in your advisory PLEASE make sure they know where to go for Block 2 today for Life 101.

Grade 7 – Relationships – Ms. Bezzerides – MYP LGR

Grade 8 – Growing Up Digital – Mr Johnson, Mr Joyce, Ms Johnson – Design Centre

Grade 9 – Responsibilities – Mr Newman, Ms Ham, Mr Messom

You will attend the lesson in in your Humanities groups:

Ms Creme’s class –> Mr Messom (C151)

Mrs Clarke’s class –> Ms Ham (D341)

Ms Johnson’s class –> Mr Newman (D203)

 

MYP/DP Awards List Today

Hello MYP/DP Student,

Awards lists will be posted on the MYP LGR glass by lunchtime today. We are taking our time to ensure that all award winners have completed and documented their C+S/CAS outcomes. If you think you have earned an award, but are not on the list please let Mr. Bratton or Dr. Saavedra by Break on Wednesday at the latest.

Earth Hour Meeting

Thanks to Cosima who noticed that the Earth Hour meeting was planned for the Three-Way Conference day which obviously wouldn’t work. So further to my previous message, the first Earth Hour meeting will take place on THURSDAY 28th January at 1:20 in C122. All welcome.

Meeting at 1:20pm on Wednesday 27th January in C122 to begin planning Earth Hour.

Visitors in the PYP Friday

Today we have visitors in the school from SAS to see our Design Centre. Four of the visitors are primary teachers. After the Design Centre, they will be touring the primary school and may stop and chat with you or pop into your classrooms during lunch onwards. They are eager to see how design thinking extends into the classrooms. The teachers are:

MYP/DP Report Proofing Today!

Hello MYP/DP Editors,

This morning you will take a look at your S1 reports via Veracross. If you spot any errors or anything missing please e-mail the teacher and cc Mr. Bratton (Grades 6-9) or Dr. Saavedra (Grades 10-12) before the end of Advisory today.

If you have time, take a look at the Awards at NIS document to see if you have earned an award this semester. If so, please check the list that will be posted on the MYP LGR glass this afternoon.

If you still have time, chat with your fellow advisees/Advisor about how you might spend Extended Advisory tomorrow!

Hello MYP/DP’ers,

Tomorrow’s advisory will be extended until 8:25am for you to proofread your report card. If there are any errors, please e-mail the teacher and cc Mr. Bratton (Grade 6-9) or Dr. Saavedra (10-12).

Also, please see the Awards at NIS document to determine if you have earned an academic award in Semester One. We will post the list on the MYP LGR glass on Thursday afternoon. If you think you have earned an award, please double-check that you are on list!

Talent Show Auditions Today and Tomorrow

The 2016 Talent Show is coming up! Auditions will be today and tomorrow in the Theater at lunch, so show us what you’ve got! There will be a first, second, and third place act, and prizes available for each. The show will be on February 3, 2016. We will post further details regarding the Tech Rehearsal soon. Please remember this is for grades 6-12 and there is a 7 minute time limit for each act.
 
If you would like to audition please come to the Theater at lunch today or tomorrow.
