Do not miss the best NIS production since COVID!

The further adventures of Fauna

Once upon a time there was a young girl who didn’t know who Shakespeare was. She felt life was empty and meaningless, but had no idea why. It was a jungle out there – sometimes she wondered how she kept from going under. But then one magical night her friend Flora took her to see the MYP/DP production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and all the magic and wonder of life was revealed to her. She realised that life is not a dark jungle but a bright forest filled with hissing fairies and feuding kings and queens, and that the course of true love doesn’t run smooth at all but involves a lot of embarrassment, disappointment and humiliating mistakes with donkeys before love conquers all. What a romantic Shakespeare was! She also realised that rich people are always intrinsically admirable and are inevitably treated to a happy ending, while the working classes are inherently simple and funny. What a snob Shakespeare was! At 7pm on the nights of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (25th, 26th, 27th November) Fauna could be found standing in amazement in the NIS theatre as the lovers and fairies, kings and working men performed their wonders before her. At last Fauna had found fulfilment – and went on to find fame making a series of popular YouTube videos about the Romantic Marxist school of literary criticism. Not bad for 30 RMB.
