Grade 7 MAP Testing Today, Grade 6 Friday!

Hello Stupendous Sevens,

Your Reading MAP test is happening today at 1:00pm on the third floor of the Centre. Please bring along a charged laptop and a positive mental attitude. The data we gather from this assessment will help us best support your learning and reflect all of your hard work in your English classes.

The NIS Art Club is looking for artists!

“Create Your Own Exhibition”

Anything can be displayed: video, paintings, photographs, sculpture, etc.…use NIS as your own exhibition place!

NIS Art Club is looking for enthusiastic, independent and responsible artists in G6-12 who are happy to create artworks for solo or group exhibitions as well as help out with school art projects, such as the Production set design and the curation/layout design of the NIS Calendar. For students in G10-11, student leaders, Seokyung and Seohyeon, could also provide help for developing ideas of exhibition concepts and advice for artistic techniques. This will be very helpful if you are planning to take DP Visual Arts.

Please only join if you are able to attend meetings and meet deadlines for the many exciting art projects that we hope to accomplish this year!

When? Every Wednesday, 3:15-4:30PM

Community Activities

Gentle Reminders:

  • Autumn MAP Assessments will take place on the 3rd floor of The Centre from Oct.19th to Oct. 22nd in room H302A & H302B. All community activities in these two rooms have been CANCELLED accordingly.

All community activities in room H301 please shut down your cellphone, no music.

  • There is still a payment open for the Community Activities you and your kid signed in. Please come to cashier next week to collect payment slips and pay for your lessons. CASH ONLY.

CASHIER OPENING HOURS:

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 8.00-11.30 & 12.30-16.00

Tuesday and Thursday: 12.30-16.00

  • Students Learn to Swim activity: Please be noted that only the names on the list at the cashier can join the class.
  • Soccer NIFC K2-G12: There are still seats available for this activity.  Practices are on Saturdays morning from 10.00 to 12.00. The coaches will split students in grades. Above G4 and below. Then a quick warmup, practice soccer basis (passes, ball control), some activities simulating the game (shoutout, moves), and then 30min fun game.

 2021 Flu Vaccination Registration

Dear NIS staff and family members,

The flu shot will be arranged by school at the end of Oct. or the beginning of Nov. As limited number of flu vaccines at the moment, first Come first Serve.

Are you going to take vaccination at local community clinic this year?  If you are interested,  please read Influenza Vaccine Consent Form , you are required to sign a consent prior to vaccination.

Then please reserve your shot here 2021 Flu Vaccination Registration by Wednesday Oct.20.

Volunteers Needed – Saturday, October 30

As you know, every G6-10 student must complete ONE volunteering experience per semester.

Here is another chance!

We are hosting a Football tournament on Saturday, October 30. We need people to help collect the balls when the balls are kicked out of bounds. You need to be quick on your feet and focused on the game!

Please sign up for a shift on Veracross. We need eight volunteers for each shift. Here are the times:

A) 9.10 am – 10.25 am

B) 10.20 am – 12.15 pm or when the game finishes.

C) 1.20 pm – 3.15 pm

D) 3.10 pm – 4.40 pm or when the game finishes.

If you have any questions, please see members of the NISSAC team (Jisook, Chloe B., Yerin, Rachel, Katty, Jessica L, Jihyun, Kangjun, Donggeun and Woohyeong).

at least ONE volunteering

experience per semester?????

You didn’t? It’s okay, I am letting you know now (again). All students in grades 6-10 must do

at least ONE volunteering experience and then fully document it on ManageBac. Don’t worry, I’ll remind you AGAIN,

and AGAIN, and AGAIN! The PTA is once again hosting the Autumn Festival and will need awesome and energetic volunteers

to help with games and face painting. The sign up will be on Veracross. You will need to purchase a ticket for 50 rmb which entitles

you some food and drink. There are 2 shifts. Each shift requires 25 fantastic volunteers.

Shift #1 – 3:30-5:15pm

Shift #2 – 4:45-7:00pm
