Report Proofing

Dear all,

Thank you for entering all your advisory comments for all grades and academic comments for Grade 12. For this cycle, members of the Student Support Teams will be proofreading and correcting different grade level comments. Here is who will be proofing your comments today:

Grade 12: Sara and Angela
Grades 10-11: Stephen
Grades 8-9: Ruben
Grades 6-7: Jade
Kelly, Kim and Tanya will be double checking students on their registers. Angela and Jade will be spot checking ATLs, and I will give a final look over everything.

If any of your grades or comments are not in, please get them in as soon as possible. I know the timeline has been a bit confusing, and I appreciate your patience and flexibility as I learn the system. Reports will be generated by Cindy later this week and published to parents on Monday.

Thank you!

Tech Tip 11: Saving and Sharing files in OneDrive, Teams or Sharepoint (Part 3 of 4)

Today’s Tech Tip is the third in a series where I’ll cover the use of OneDrive, Teams and Sharepoint to save and share files you’re working on.  In this tip I am going to cover saving and sharing files using Teams.  Remember, Teams is best used for files that you are working on collaboratively with a group of people.

1. So firstly, to open Teams, you can use either the locally installed App on your laptop, or open the Web App from the waffle menu found here.  https://nanjingschool.sharepoint.com/sites/NISHub

Either option is fine, and unlike OneDrive they look and function almost identically.

2. Next you need to select which Team you want to collaborate with.  You do this by;

  • Clicking on Teams on the left-hand side menu.
  • Select the appropriate Team. For most it will be either Primary School or Secondary School
  • Then select the appropriate Channel. For most this will either a Grade level or Subject area

The great thing about Teams is that once you upload a file into a particular “team” or “channel” that you are a member of, it is automatically shared with all other members of that team.

3. Finally, to upload a file;

  • Make sure you are in the correct Team and Channel
  • Click on Files in the top menu, found up between Posts and Notes.
  • Click Upload, then click Files (or you can upload a whole folder by clicking folder)
  • Locate the file you want to upload
  • Click Open (blue button in the bottom right)

That file is now ready for others in your team to collaborate on, and any changes made to the document will be automatically saved.

Just finishing with an interesting note: To upload a file notice that you DON’T click on Files found below Teams and Calls in the left-hand side menu.  Doing this is actually another method you can use to upload a file to your OneDrive.

That’s it for today’s Tech Tip.  Next week I’ll continue with this series and give some tips on the use of saving and sharing files from Sharepoint specifically.

That’s it for today’s Tech Tip.
