Earth Week library resources
I’ve created a resource list of picture books and nonfiction books available in the library you can use in your classes for Earth Week. There are many more books in the library that would support Earth Week in case you’re looking for something specific, especially for secondary students! You can ask one of the lovely library ladies for help in finding any of them.
Film Crew On Campus Today

NIS Sugar Challenge!
Dear NIS
We are three 5th graders working on a project for our PYPX. As a part of our action, we are going to run a Sugar Challenge. This challenge is to stop eating added sugar. The NIS Sugar Challenge will begin on April 15th, 2024. The specific rules of the challenge are as follows,
Students in grades 1-3: (With parent and teacher’s help) try not to eat extra sugar for 2 days.
Students in grades 4-12: Try not to eat extra sugar for 5 days.
Teachers: Try not to eat extra sugar for 5 days.
As a reward, you will get a sugar-free but sweet cookie.
If you’d like to join us, please sign up on the form. For kids in grades 1-3 we ask that teachers help them fill out the form.
Join us in the Sugar Challenge!
Athletics Day – Grade 1 to 5 (This Friday!)
Dear Parents,
We are excited to invite you to our upcoming Athletics Day event this Friday, April 12th, from 11am to 3pm at the NIS track and field. This event, focusing on Personal Excellence and a Growth Mindset, will showcase our students’ athletic abilities in running, jumping, and throwing.
We encourage parents and family members to join us in cheering on our young athletes. Please ensure that all participants come prepared with sports shoes, house shirt, a drink bottle, a hat, suncream and plenty of nutritious snacks.
We look forward to seeing you at the event and sharing this special day with all of you. If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact me at leemayes@nanjing-school.com.
Best regards,
Mr. Lee
