Yangshan Park Run for YOPD and Earth Week

The 26th Yangshan Park Run will be held on April 13th, SATURDAY morning, at 9:00. To sign up, please fill out your name and pay the registration fee (30 yuan) through the mini program. This event will be hosted in collaboration with WWWY (We Walk With You). This event is for YOPD’s (Young Onset Parkisnon’s Disease) and Earth Week. All the fund raised will be sent for scholarship of young kids of YOPD families. Should you have any questions or trouble accessing the mini program please contact student leaders Rosie(ziqiye) or Hyeonche(hyeoncheroh).

NIS Sugar Challenge!

 

Dear NIS

We are three 5th graders working on a project for our PYPX. As a part of our action, we are going to run a Sugar Challenge. This challenge is to stop eating added sugar. The NIS Sugar Challenge will begin on April 15th, 2024. The specific rules of the challenge are as follows,

Students in grades 1-3: (With parent and teacher’s help) try not to eat extra sugar for 2 days.
Students in grades 4-12: Try not to eat extra sugar for 5 days.
Teachers: Try not to eat extra sugar for 5 days.

As a reward, you will get a sugar-free but sweet cookie.

This award is presented to a student who embraces the qualities of a global citizen. This student is a proud representative of his/her nation while respectful of the diversity of other nations, has an open mind, is well informed, aware and empathetic, concerned and caring for others encouraging a sense of community and strongly committed to engagement and action to make the world a better place. Finally, this student is able to interact and communicate effectively with people from all walks of life while having a sense of collective responsibility for all who inhabit the globe.

Athletics Day – Grade 1 to 5 (Tomorrow!)

Dear Parents,

We are excited to see you at our Athletics Day event tomorrow from 11am to 3pm at the NIS track and field.

Please ensure that all participants come prepared with sports shoes, house shirt, a drink bottle, a hat, suncream and plenty of nutritious snacks.

Primary Staff – Athletics Day Reminders

Hey team,

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow is our Athletics Day event.

During your closing circle this afternoon, can I please ask for your help in doing a final reminder for students to bring:

  • sports shoes
  • drink bottle
  • hat and suncream
  • plenty of healthy snacks
  • and most importantly to wear house shirts
