Music Rehearsals

Dear Teachers & Students,

The school year is not winding down for the Performing Arts department! We still have 4 performances to go. Please check this schedule and excuse students in the following clubs:

June 19, 15:15 – 17:00 in the PAC. Tech rehearsal for choir, concert band, and advanced orchestra.

June 20, 13:45 – 14:20 in the PAC. Advanced Orchestra performance during Awards Assembly.

June 20, 15:15 – 19:00 in the quad. Setup and tech rehearsal for rock bands

June 21, 08:00 – 08:45 in the PAC. Secondary assembly (choir, concert band & adv orchestra). ** Also including our primary band students

June 21, 09:00 – 09:05 in the PAC. Primary assembly (concert band) ** Also including our secondary band students

June 21, 09:05 – 09:45 in the gym. Tech rehearsals for rock bands

June 21, 09:45 – 11:00 a.m. in the quad. Rock band performance during yearbook signing / breaks.

International Food Festival – Friday, June 9

Grade 10 students are holding an International Food Festival on Friday, June 9 as part of their unit on Business Enterprise with all proceeds being donated to the KIVA organization. Students will sell a variety of food and drink items, ranging from mochi to lemonade, to fruit puddings to sausage rice sticks. All ingredients will be posted so students are aware of what they are eating. Prices will range from 5-20 RMB per item.

Students will pay with tickets: neither Cash nor WeChat will be accepted on June 9th. Tickets may be bought in increments of 5RMB and only cash will be accepted.

  • Grades 3-11 students will be able to purchase tickets during Break from June 5-8
  • EY and Grades 1 and 2 will be able to purchase and use them with their class prior to Break on June 9

Upstairs Cafeteria Closed

Grade 10 students… please note that the Upstairs Cafeteria is no longer available to you during break and lunchtimes this year. The space is going to be used for the library whilst the Hub construction takes place.

You have the Music room, gym, Library and downstairs cafeteria as places to go instead.

NISMUN III Volunteers Needed

Current grade 6~9 students, we need your ATTENTION!

 NISMUN III will be hosted on October 13~14 on a Friday and a Saturday.

We need people (volunteers) for both days.

This is a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, get an insight into diplomacy, and have a nice day in a formal suit.

Your role will include passing out delegates’ notes, guiding the delegates, chairs, etc.

Please be aware that being a part of the admin team indicates that you will be a part of the MUN team.

Please pick up your artworks

Dear Secondary School Artists,

Please come to Design Centre to collect your amazing artworks that you created during the Semester 1 Visual Arts courses. Please take the artworks home, we’ll help you to wrap the ceramics properly so won’t get broken on the way.

Please pick up your artworks before next Friday, June 9.

Secondary Students: gentle reminders

Gentle reminder to all Secondary Students to maintain the rules that we have in place for safety, environmental protection and respect for one another;

  1. Students may not bring food or drinks onto campus from outside: this includes after school
  2. Bags may not be brought into the cafeteria at lunchtime: they should be placed in lockers

Thank you for your cooperation and support for our community.

 

Library books due Wednesday, May 31

Parents and students, please return all library books by Wednesday, May 31. As mentioned in the weekly bulletin, there will be no summer checkout this year due to the library temporarily moving upstairs to the cafeteria.

Teachers, please return any library books you are finished with. If you need to use  books for the next few weeks, please check them out this week and kindly return them by June 20.

We start boxing up the library on Thursday, June 1.

Schedule Change

From Monday, May 29 to Wednesday, May 31, the schedule for ALL secondary (grades 6-11) will be changed to accommodate grade 8-11 exam week. The regular schedule will return on Thursday.
