The Global Citizen Diploma is NIS Graduation Requirement. Students must share 10 stories of their choice that document their Global Citizen journey.
The GCD is a platform for students to showcase who they are behind the books and numbers.
By presenting at the G9 Launch, a student could achieve the element Public Communication and one other if they choose. For example, a student could talk about how he traversed the Gobi Desert on foot (Wilderness Engagement) and because he is speaking to an audience of more than 20 people, it also counts as Public Communication.
If you are interested in taking out two birds with one stone, please contact hoyunlee@nanjing-school.com .
NIS Student Community Bank empowers each student to develop their capabilities to become productive investors in the NSCB. We provide financial support to students in Grades 6 to 12 who need some money to start their student-led activity or Service as Action and/or Grade 10 Business projects.
All NIS students are eligible to apply for financial assistance. You could ask for:
1) a loan which must be repaid or
2) if you qualify you may be awarded a Grant for a Good Cause.
Are you good with numbers? A super salesman? A rock under pressure? A legal genius? An economics savant? There is something for everybody in the NIS Student Community Bank!
The NSCB is looking for new members! If you are in grade 10 or above, this experience would be great for you!
You can learn not only how to manage money, charge interest but you also learn about the students who want to borrow money or who apply for grants. You learn about their passions and what makes them want to create a better world. You build up a lot of core skills like analysis, logical reasoning, relationship management, industry knowledge, people and time management etc.
To sign up for NSCB, please fill out the application form attached below and send it to dasoljung@nanjing-school.com before October 29th. NSCB_Application[30][39] If you have any further questions or would like to join our group, please contact Dasol or Mr Friedle. Thank you.
IN ADDITION, you can use this experience as evidence for one of your GCD stories:
For students in Grade 11 and 12, this could meet the outcomes of :
G6 8:40-8:50
G4 8:50-9:00
