don’t forget to sign up for the new cycle of Community Activities!
Please also sign up if you want to participate the evening/ weekend activities like Yoga, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Crossfit etc.

Registrations on Veracross are open until Wednesday, February 24th afternoon.

The Eco Team is looking for performers for this year’s Earth Hour on Saturday March 19th! We are looking for all types of acts such as: dances, poetry reading, singing or acting a short skit/slam poem. New students : Week 23 – summary to date

Dear All,

This week has been a particularly busy one with new students every day. Here is a summary of who has arrived and which grade they are in – so you can welcome them here to NIS and let us know in Admissions if you need any additional support as they transition into school.

Monday 22nd Feb : Tim Heubner : German a returning student who left in 2011 and whose sister Lisa graduated from NIS. Tim is in G10C.

Two Korean students Shin family Seo Kyung G6C and brother Dong Geun G4A.

Tuesday 23rd Feb : Spanish family from Zaragoza with twins Ariadna and Salva in K1A& B and elder sister Valeria in G1C.

Wednesday 24th Feb : Su family – boys Ricky in K1A & Ryan in G2A.

Thursday 25th Feb : Korean family Son with Hyung Beom in G10B and sister Yejin in G7B

HELP for our PYP production make-up

Would you be able to help us with the PYP production make-up? 

WHO:

We have 15 PYP children who need make up.

WHEN:

-Thursday 25th February 3:15-4:15

-Friday 4th March 8:00 AM (one hour max)

-Friday 4th March 5:15 (around one hour) – production starts at 6:30

WHERE:

-Changing room next to the theater.

Please let me know if you can help us by the end of Wednesday 24th February. Thank you.

International Women’s Day- March 8

NIS will be hosting an International Women’s Day event on Tuesday March 8. Any MYP/DP students that would like to help with the planning of this event, should contact Mrs. Rinker in the library.

Accidental Theatre Audition

Calling all Grade 9 – 12 actors!

Accidental Theatre Company are planning their third NIS production! This year’s play will be Black Comedy by Peter Shaffer, which has been described as “[one of] the funniest and most brilliant plays in the English language”.

Auditions will take place in the Black Box during lunch time on Wednesday 9th March and Thursday 10th March.

You do not need to be a current Drama student to audition! Open to all…

1. Login ES web: https://esweb1.veracross.com/nis/ with your veracross login account and password

2. Find and go to “Main Home Page

SCISAC Basketball for Gr 8 – 9

SCISAC Basketball season starts next week. Sign up on Veracross. Practices are 4.20 – 5.50pm. Girls on Mon & Wed, boys on Tue & Thu. Please note that the tournament clashes with ACAMIS Track & Field so you will not be able to do both.

For Grades 5 – 12. CISSA practices are Wednesdays and Fridays 3.15 – 4.15pm and ACAMIS practices are Mondays and Wednesdays 4.20 – 5.50pm. Sign up on veracross. Please note that the ACAMIS tournament clashes with SCISAC Bball so you will not be able to do both.

Speak to your House Leaders today about signing up for Interhouse Volley ball!

It is scheduled for Wednesday 2nd March (first half of lunch in the gym)

Rules:
  • 2 separate competitions: Gr 6 – 8 Boys and Girls
  • Teams of minimum 6, maximum 12.
  • Net height – CISSA Senior height – 2.24M
  • Round Robin format, each team playing the other 2 houses. Captains can toss a coin to see who plays first.
  • One set up to 17 points. No clear 2 points required. Score for each game is recorded.
