Library Magazines

imgresTeachers-

Great to see so many teachers and parents enjoying the magazine collection in the library…. but… please notify the desk when you take them and return them when you are done. Many issues of one of our newest magazines, Runner’s World, are missing and we like to keep some copies in the library so others may enjoy them too.

Be sure to stop by and check out some of our great new titles this year!

eBooks in the Library

Following up on yesterday’s post on Student Library Logins, here is a link to complete step-by-step information on how to get set up with the Overdrive eBooks in the library http://share.nanjing-school.com/library/overdrive/

Note that Overdrive requires a second login (after your initial login to the library). You can search for books in the library catalog and the site will direct you to the Overdrive website to check-out the books.

Let us know if you need help getting started!

Free Pizza!

That’s right! If you are an MYP student (Grade 6-10) that is new to NIS since the February (CNY) Break, please join us in the MYP LGR this Friday for some pizza and a check-in on life at NIS. Those eligible have been contacted via e-mail, and likely in person, via Mr. Bratton, Dr. Saavedra, or Ms. Bezzerides. See you there!

Everyone else… no pizza for you. Someday you will be a new student in a new school. They can buy the pizza. Until then… 🙂

Student Library Login

The library recently launched a new interface called “Universal Search” that lets you search for books, eBooks, databases etc. etc. all in one go!

Passwords have been reset (sorry for the inconvenience) so please follow these steps to login to your library account:

Step 1: Click on this LINK, click on login

Step 2: select “Forgot Password”

Step 3:

  • Username: firstnamelastname (whatever name appears at the beginning of your school email)
  • Password: your lunch card/ID number (without the letter P at the beginning)
  • change your password

Once you have logged in, click on the Catalog Tab at the top and select “Universal Search” on the left side menu.

In Universal Search, use the “Book Bag” menu to see what books you have checked out/overdue. You can also open eBooks in your browser or set up your account on Overdrive to use the mobile app.

Let us know if you need extra assistance-

Garden Help-Monday 4:00

At 4:00 on Monday we are receiving 125 bags of compost that need to be unloaded off of a delivery truck.  Each bag weighs 40 KG, so that’s a grand total of 5,000KG of compost. This is clearly too much for me to do alone if I want to be home before dark. If just a few people (or an entire sports team) came out to help, we could be finished in no time. Your time & muscle would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
