School Bells

At NIS, the school bells are chosen by PYP homerooms and MYP/DP advisory classes. This week’s bell was chosen by Mr. Mello’s advisory from last year.

  • PYP, MYP, and DP homeroom/advisories submit the bells.
  • Bells should be between 15 – 20 seconds long.
  • Bells must be from clean songs, including having clean titles. Please do not pick an instrumental part from an explicit song.
  • Please check your lyrics to ensure they are appropriate for all ages / community members.
  • Please turn off the metronome when exporting from GarageBand.

If you need any help, you can also send the entire song to Miss Keus and explain where you want the bell cut, and she will do it in GarageBand.

Please submit your bells to afp://largestorage.nanjing-school.com/school_bells.

Mr. Mello, Mr. Marsh, and Mrs. Moen have the most enthusiastic advisories when it comes to bell submissions, so you need to submit yours fast before they fill the slots!

The bell schedule can be found at: Bell Schedule 1617  (Web view) using OneNote.

Call for Presenters

Following my announcement at Monday Briefing, we are looking for inspirational presenters for the prestigious ACAMIS conference, which NIS is hosting on the 10th and 11th March 2017. The theme for the conference is “Linked or Chained” and the strands will be:

Inclusion

Blended Learning

Burst the Bubble

Learning Spaces

Athletics Directors/Business Leaders/ACE (arts)

We have incredible Keynote speakers lined up and some really innovative ideas, which we hope will make this the best ACAMIS conference yet.

If you have seen a great presenter from another school, or know of somebody you would love to see share what they do, please email me their details. It could be an ex-colleague, someone you connect with on professional social media, or have seen at another conference …but they will need to be in the region and willing to accept the prestige, rather than great financial reward. Also, if YOU are thinking you might like to present, or want more information on what is expected, please let me know asap.

Look forward to linking with you.

Emma (McBride)
