PYP Exhibition 2018 – Mentors

Grade 5 are looking for mentors!

  • The role of the mentor is chiefly to advise and keep students on track.
  • There should be regular meetings. For the most part we would like mentor meetings to happen during UOI time, in the grade 5 classrooms. HOWEVER – no problem if they come to you if that suits you better!
  • Offer advice on locating resources and using them efficiently.
  • Ask questions (i.e. to clarify thinking, to help with processing information, to extend knowledge etc.)
  • Help interpret sophisticated/difficult information.
  • Facilitate interviews, telephone calls, any electronic communication.
  • Goal setting and time management advice.
  • Be supportive and encouraging.
  • Celebrate achievements and successes with the students.

Please email any of the grade 5 teachers if you are willing to be a part of this exciting journey! Information meeting   NOT   Thursday 8th March at 3:15. TBD

The rules are simple:

“Post anything you’d like to give away, lend or share amongst your neighbours/colleagues”

“Ask for anything you’d like to receive for free or borrow.”

“Keep it legal. Keep it civil.”

In order to aid people in finding a match to a request, please make sure to add a category/tag whenever you post.

Thanks and enjoy!

Reminder – Update your Microsoft Office

Welcome back!

A reminder to all Students and Staff to regularly click “yes” to running the Microsoft updates. Not only will you get access to new and improved tools in your Office 365 suite of software, but your software will run better too. For more information, check out how to do it here.

Homework Club!

Every Monday and Wednesday from 3:15-4:15, ALL students grades 6-12 are invited down to the LSS area (C142) for Homework Club. There are always multiple teachers there ready to help assist with homework, organization, studying, and projects.

Come on down and find a spot to get your school work completed!

An Evening with the Office (365) – final sign up

In an effort to bring you training in a different way, we would like to gauge interest in short, focused evening tech workshops. The format of the workshop will be 15-20 minutes of instruction, after which you can choose to stay and practice with guided help on the side, but by no means required to stay for the full hour. With light snacks and drinks on offer, we want to make it as informal and comfortable as possible for all learners. Please fill in the form below to let us know the level of interest in this as well as potential dates and times for the event. Once we know the level of interest we will get back to you with the venue, dates and times!

Thanks and we hope to hear from you!

Dear All,

Following the Child Protection Workshop last week I have had a number of requests for more information. I am attaching what I hope is a comprehensive response to this. The digital image guidelines are in the Staff A-Z. Everything linked here is in the staff folder. Many thanks, Ruth.
