Month: August 2022

NAT Testing Today

NAT testing is available this morning from 9:00-10:30am in the Blue Gym for all staff and NIS staff children. Many thanks to our Operations and Facilities teams for their efforts. Please also be advised that we will conduct whole-school testing on Wednesday in line with government regulations for the start of school. Say “Aaahhh!”

Staff Briefing Today 10:30am

Our first Monday Briefing of the school year will happen today at 10:30am in the Staff Lounge. Please note the time adjustment to support NAT testing. See you there!

NAT Testing on Monday

There are two key testing requirements that we all need to be aware of for the start of the school year.

  1. All staff require a negative NAT result within 48 hours of Tuesday, August 30th.
  2. All students, including staff children, require a negative NAT result within 48 hours of Tuesday, August 30th.

On Monday we will offer NAT testing for all students and staff children who attend NIS in the Blue Gym from 9:00-10:30am. This  will satisfy the testing requirements to start the school year. Staff or staff children that are not able to attend this session should ensure they have a negative NAT result within 48 hours of Tuesday, August 30th. Our usual surveys will begin just before the first days of school to collect this information.

Please contact Kasson with questions.

Many thanks!

Catering from Monday

From Monday we will return to our normal catering approach. This means usual break snacks provided and food for purchase available from Aden. On Monday, lunch will also be available for purchase. Thanks to Annie and her team for the yummy food on offer this week!

Professional Dress from Monday

A reminder that professional dress begins on Monday with students and parents on-campus. This is also well timed with new website and placard photos for all being taken on this day as well.

Please see below for faculty dress information:

NIS employees are expected to dress in a professional manner. We have regular visits from government officials, prospective parents, and guests from other schools. With this in mind, the dress guidelines below apply to all teachers, teaching assistants, and learning assistants:

Monday-Thursday

  • Trousers or Modest length skirt/dress
  • Dress shirts (tie and/or jacket optional) or medium/high cut tops (no t-shirts, no spaghetti straps)
  • Closed loafer-style shoes
  • No coaching apparel unless leaving for a tournament during the day (exception: PE teachers)

School Spirit Fridays

Staff should choose to either wear spirit gear as described below or the expected usual dress.

Friday Spirit Gear

Tidy Jeans: dark blue, black, or white; no rips or tears, even if fashionable; not faded

House shirt or NIS apparel

Clean trainers

No t-shirts or hoodies (except NIS house shirts and NIS apparel)

Please let Kasson or Laurie know if you have any questions. Thanks!
