Tech Tip 5: Strategies for Adopting AI in your Classroom

Tip 5:   Strategies for Adopting AI in in your Classroom

The use of AI based tools in your classroom is now a very real situation that teachers need to be aware of.  It is not something that we can ignore, and if we do, we are doing our students a disservice, and we are missing out on a huge range of teaching and learning opportunities.

Yes there are a range of valid concerns, ranging from the opportunity for plagiarism, to the huge potential for AI based content having bias or completely incorrect information.  The website commonsense.org has a great article on how you can manage these concerns, including practical tips and ideas for how you can start venturing into this vast new world.

The point is, without taking the time to learn what AI based tools can offer your students, you are not going to know what is possible, suitable or pedagogically sound.

To learn how to start diving into the AI based options that are available to teachers and students within China, come along to the LunchByte session with Shannon and myself in D243 on Wednesday 29th March @12:30.  There you will learn about two great tools that you can begin exploring yourself.

And finally, the following PDF provides a HUGE range of ways that you can start using these tools, in particular ChatGPT in your classroom.  A Teacher’s Prompt Guide to ChatGPT

That’s it for today’s Tech Tip.  See you again next Tuesday.
