OWC Health Awareness Series – March Nutrition Health Awareness

Dear overseas staff,

Please see below the message from OWC:

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

March is Nutrition Health Awareness Month, and we encourage our client’s members to learn more about making informed food choices and developing healthful eating habits. People can engage in a variety of activities to improve their nutrition and overall health. Here are some suggestions:

  1. Eat a Variety of Foods: Ensure your diet includes a mix of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains, and healthy fats to get a wide range of nutrients.
  2. Plan Your Meals: Planning meals ahead of time can help you make healthier choices, save time, and reduce food waste.
  3. Cook More at Home: Cooking at home allows you to control the ingredients and portions, often leading to healthier meals than eating out.
  4. Practice Mindful Eating: Pay attention to your eating habits. Eat slowly, savor your food, and listen to your body’s hunger and fullness cues.
  5. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Sometimes thirst is confused with hunger.
  6. Limit Processed Foods and Added Sugars: Reducing the intake of highly processed foods and sugary drinks can significantly impact your health positively.
  7. Seek Professional Advice: If you have specific health conditions or dietary needs, consider consulting a registered dietitian for personalized guidance.
  8. Share Your Knowledge: Use this month as an opportunity to encourage friends and family to make healthier food choices and develop better eating habits.

These activities not only promote better health during Nutrition Health Awareness Month but can also lead to long-term benefits when incorporated into daily life.

MagicSchoolAI for Students!

MagicSchool for Students (MagicStudent) has been live in testing for a few days with AI Pioneer ambassadors and has gone really smoothly (and we’re really excited about it!).  We’re ready to launch MagicSchool for Students THIS WEEK (target date is Wednesday or Thursday China time) for NIS as a MagicSchool AI Innovator partner using Enterprise.

To find out more about how MagicStudent will work please watch the demo video here.

You can also find resources, including an introduction lesson and more, for MagicStudent here.

We are ensuring that all student WiFi is set up properly and that all students will be able to access MagicStudent

Students only have access through join links as assigned by, and monitored by, their teachers. There is no independent log-on. Here is a MagicSchool for Students Student-Facing Instruction One Pager  you can use to teach your students how to access the MagicSchoolAI room you create.

If you have any questions please let me know.  I will be running some LunchBytes on this new addition next week.

We are excited by the possibilities this will bring to our students K-12.

Grade 10 EXHIBITION!

Dear All,

Please find the schedule for the Grade 10 Personal Project Exhibition below – Wednesday March 20th.

If you have a class when a particular grade is scheduled, please take your class to the PAC so they can visit the booths and ask questions of the students. However, if you already have something important to complete like an exam, then the class work should take priority. Similarly, you can give your students as much or as little time to visit within the time slot, but please ensure that you are also present in the PAC.

Thanks for your support, and see you all next Wednesday in the PAC!
