Important Message From the IT Department
Dear NIS Faculty, Staff, and Students,
As the Summer Break approaches, the IT department extends heartfelt wishes for a happy and restful break to each of you.
With just a few days left before we break for the Summer, we’re gearing up for some housekeeping. Part of this involves conducting a thorough inventory of our loaner devices and accessories, including chargers and other peripherals.
🔍 Inventory Time: Your Cooperation Needed
To facilitate a smooth inventory process, we kindly request anyone who has borrowed equipment from the IT department to return these items by Wednesday, June 19th 2024. This will help us ensure that everything is accounted for and in good working order for the upcoming school year.
🚫 Pause on Loaning Equipment
Please note, during this final week (leading up to the break), we will not be issuing any loaner devices or accessories. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
📣 Friendly Reminder
Returning borrowed items on time is crucial for our inventory process and helps us maintain our resources effectively. Your timely response will be greatly appreciated!
We thank you for your continual support and understanding throughout this year. Let’s make these last few days count and head into summer fun!
Wishing you all a fabulous summer!
Warm regards,
The IT Department at NIS 🌟🖥️🌟

Speak Up
The best way to be ready to speak up is to prepare. The more we can identify stereotypes and explain why they are hurtful—or just inaccurate—the easier it will be to respond the next time we hear one. Remember, your response can have an impact.
Microaggressions How to Respond as an Actor
Listen with full attention: Listen to understand the misalignment and the impact
Take your time: Acknowledge Your Feelings (Internally)
Resist the urge to defend yourself or the statement. If you need time to process, share that: “I’m pretty overwhelmed right now and I don’t want to respond in a way that I’d regret… do you think that we can connect later?”
Practice Being Good-ish: View the feedback as a gift! (Thank you usually works
better that sorry) “Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I really appreciate
you telling me this.
Prioritize Impact: Acknowledge the impact, make commitments to change behaviour and change. “I understand the impact my actions had… I commit to…”
