using bittorent is the best way to kill the school network

Using Bittorent on the school network isn’t allowed because it has the capacity to bring the school network to a stand still. First time offenders are given a warning. The second time you’ll be referred to your division level Principal and your computer might be placed into a restricted lock down mode.

bittorent

The image above we see the impact a single Bittorent user visiting 45,000 websites in a few minutes. For comparison a normal computer will visit about 2,000 websites in a day. Bittorent applications Vuse, uTorrent and Tranmission should not be on your computer.

Interhouse Music Competition

20111024-ticketed-event-3

This year’s Interhouse Music Competition takes place Friday, May 15th at the start of lunch. The piece we’ve chosen is ‘Sway’ – a fusion Latin-jazz piece, made famous by both Dean Martin and recently Michael Buble.

The three houses have been working very hard on their orchestrations. This year looks to be the best year ever, with the quality of the groups so close that it’s bound to be hard to pick a winner.

Please come at the start of lunch to support your house. We look forward to seeing you there!

Keys Please

Are these your keys? If so, please make the walk of shame to my office ASAP. Thanks. Mr. Bratton

Student Council President/ & Vice President Elections

Hello Grade 9, 10 and 11 students! Throughout the whole year many activities and nights have been organized and a lot of that is thanks to the student council. Now, it may be your chance to lead the student council and their activities as the President and Vice President!  If you have a partner in mind please come to the Councilors Office at 1:00 pm on Friday May 22nd for a brief meeting to discuss the process. Come by even if you are little interested, we can answer your questions. If you are running for president, you must have had at least one year of experience in student council. These roles are only for grade 10 and up (current grade 9 and up). For 8s and below, there will be plenty of opportunity to get involved in the new year as grade level reps. The actual elections will take place on Friday June 5th.
