Discover China Week Service Activities for G6-9 Students

Service Opportunities for G6-9 during Discover China Week

All the Grade 6-9 trips will have an element of Service and these can be be used to show evidence of meeting one Service outcome, and should be put in your Managebac journal. In fact, you should put the activity in your journal before the trip and give some thought to what outcome you might be able to achieve. During the trip please take some photos and put in your journal. Please ask your Advisory Teacher or Trip leader for more details.

House Captains of grade 6-8, get your Touch Rugby teams together!

Teams will be mixed ♂♀ 6-a-side, with a maximum squad size of 14. Minimum of 3 girls on the pitch. Federation of International Touch rules apply, games will be 10 mins each.

Don’t forget: even if you’re not playing, your support could help to make the difference your team needs. Turn up and cheer your team to victory!

Grade 11 and 12 Today

Admissions officer, Ms. Plous, will be joining us from Loyola University in Chicago.  This is a great opportunity to meet US admissions representatives, practice asking questions and get insight into the college admissions process.  Today, 12:50 to 13:50 in D232, the HS counseling office.

Loyola University – USA Visit Today

Juniors and Seniors – stop by the Counseling Office  today, September 21st at 12:50 to meet Ms. Plous, the Assistant Director to Admissions for Loyola University in Chicago.  A great opportunity to meet and research schools in the US and learn about the application process.  Even if this is not your school choice it is good practice to meet college admission’s officers.

Grade 9 Students

All Grade 9 students – Today, Wednesday, come to the PAC at 13:55 for your Block 5 class.

ISA testing – Grades 5 and 6

Dear Grade 5 and 6 teachers,

We will be conducting ISA tests for Grades 5 and 6 students on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th September. There will be NO REGULAR CLASSES for these students at these times:

Monday: Grade 5 Periods 1 – 5 Grade 6 Blocks 1, 2 and half of 3

Tuesday: Grade 5 Periods 1-3 Grade 6 Blocks 1 and 2

Please note that there will also be a delayed break time for Grade 5 and 6 students on Monday.

Teachers who are invigilating these tests have already been notified.

Today we welcome between 25 and 30 EY teachers from our Shanghai Network at NIS for a Professional Learning Opportunity. They will be observing in the EY, discussing, questioning, thinking and learning from each other. Please welcome them as you see them in the hallways.
