Loyola University Visit

Juniors and Seniors – stop by the Counseling Office on Wednesday, September 21st at 12:50 to meet Ms. Plous, the Assistant Director to Admissions for Loyola University in Chicago.  A great opportunity to meet and research schools in the US.

Wutaishan win table tennis

Congratulations to Wutaishan for winning the opening inter-house event last week. The combined G6-12 team won 11 of their matches. Xuanwu came second with 7 wins and Taiping were close behind in 3rd with 6 wins.

G6 – 10 Technology Challenge

Block 5 today will be the first Technology Challenge for the year.  Please assemble in grade level lines by 1.50pm (the bell for the finish of lunch) so we may start promptly at 1.55pm.

Technology Challenge Staffing

Please check the table below for staffing for tomorrow technology challenge.

Tomorrow block 5 (day 1) will be the first MYP tech challenge for the year. Below is a list of teachers and responsibilities for the afternoon.   

Advisors – please inform all G6-10 students that they need to line up outside the reception entrance in Grade lines by 1.50pm (end of lunch bell).

Green highlight – If your name is highlighted in green in the table below please be ready to meet the students at 1.50pm outside reception and organise them in grade level lines.  Once ready bring them to the design centre to the designated location on the table below.

Yellow highlight – If your name is highlighted in yellow in the table below can you please meet in the design centre at 1.45pm and I will answer any questions about the task you are running.  As activity leader can you please ensure that student break up into 5 separate groups per house as they will miss out on points if they have less.

Other staff – please be ready to assist activity leader I the design centre at 1.50pm.

Table Tennis Squad – please re-check the finish times below

Do you play Table Tennis? Then why not come along to the Table Tennis Squad practices which start this week. The team will go to CISSA, SISAC and ACAMIS tournaments. Practices are on Tuesday 4.15 – 5.50, Fridays 3.15 – 4.15pm and on Wednesday and Thursday lunchtimes. Speak to Mr Morin if you are interested.  Sign up on Veracross

Service Activity for G10 and 11 – Nanjinger Magazine

We are planning to form a small group of g10 and 11 students who will work together producing some work for the Nanjinger magazine. If you like writing, photography, art and other areas related to magazine publishing then this may interest you. Please contact me if you are interested. This will be considered a core Service activity for G10 students.

Eco Team Meeting

Do you care about the state of the planet? Want to make a difference in the world? Interested in helping the Eco Team to move forwards with sustainable action? Then please join us upstairs in the Cafeteria on Wednesday  at 1 pm. PYP students, please see Ms Adams during break tomorrow (Tuesday) in the playground to register interest.

Roald Dahl’s 100th!

roald-dahl-daySeptember 13th marks what would have been the 100th birthday of master storyteller Roald Dahl (he died in 1990).

Stop by the foyer en route to lunch to be a true risk-taker and try some of the “Revolting Recipes” created by our K2 & Grade 2 students! If you are brave enough to take a bite (ice cream with barbeque sauce?), enter your name in the lucky draw to win a Roald Dahl book (you are never too old for Roald Dahl!)
