PYP/MYP/DP rockstar teachers wanted

The IB Asia Pacific region has created a new IB Educator’s Network portal where you can indicate your interest in becoming a workshop leader and school service providers (for schools seeking authorisation or re-authorisation). The IB will cover expenses of your training and, if selected, add you to a pool of educators for future workshops, consultations and authorisarion/re-authorisation visits. There are also reading roles that do not require travel. I find it great professional development and networking, so thought I’d spread the word. If you want to know more, feel free to stop by for a chat or email (D204 / luizmello@nanjing-school.com)

Grades 6-9 Home Learning Survey

Hello 6-9th Graders,

We want to know about your homework habits! Please complete this survey today in extended advisory (if possible). Please be as honest and accurate as possible. This matters!

Thanks!

ps. 10-12’s, don’t worry, we’ll ask you later. We’re pretty sure you are too busy to complete a survey anyway!

Extended Advisory Today

Grade 10 – You will be working on your PPP with Mr Morin and PPP team.

Grade 11 – You need to log in to Family Connections and click the About Me tab. On the left you will see a link to ‘Grade 11 Survey’. Please fill this out as comprehensively as possible. It will take you more than this block, so plan to complete it this weekend. It will be crucial for the new Counsellor next year to have as much information as possible about you and your post-school thinking, so make it thorough.

Grade 12 – College Essays and Personal Statements should be almost done. Have you had either myself or an English teacher check your draft? Other application materials may need putting together and finalising for the December 1 deadline in school. As a bare minimum, you MUST have colleges listed in your ‘colleges I am applying to’, even if you are applying to Korea, Europe or Australia…

Giving Tree

The Giving Tree will soon appear in the Centre foyer and it would benefit from lovely hand-made decorations. Please get creative and use recycled materials.

Watch out for news about the gift bags for Pfrang students-they go on sale from November 30th. We have 280 students to gift to, so start collecting money in class to help brighten up someone’s life.
