Pecha Kucha @NIS is Back!

PechaKucha or Pecha Kucha is a presentation style in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each. The format, which keeps presentations concise and fast-paced, powers multiple-speaker events called PechaKucha Nights.

A time-honored tradition at NIS, Pecha Kucha makes its triumphant return November 23, at 7pm. If you or someone you know would like to present an idealistic idea, tell a sumptuous story, or recite a poem you created about your most favorite thing in the whole world with 20 images at 20 seconds a piece, please contact bobbuhler@nanjing-school.com ASAP. More to come on ticket sales… They are a hot commodity!

MAP Testing Today and Tomorrow

Hello Gnarly Grade 9’s,

You will take the MAP Reading Test today after Advisory in the LGR. Please bring along your charged laptop and a positive mental attitude!

For all Grade 6-10 students, the MAP make-up/wrap-up session will be held tomorrow at 1:15pm in the LGR. This means those students involved will have permission to eat in first lunch. You will receive an email from Mr. Bratton today if you are a student that needs to attend this session.

Australian School Visit

On Tuesday, the 24th of September, a group of 44 middle school students from Australia will be visiting NIS to give a music performance / workshop. The topic will be a history of Australia, as seen through music.

Block 4: MSUS music students will attend during xBlock.  This will also include all grade 9 and 10 music students (see email from last week).  Advanced Orchestra students are allowed to attend if they get their teachers’ permissions beforehand.

Block 5: PS students will be attending after lunch.  They will sit on the floor of the middle music room, so there is plenty of space for any primary classes that still want to attend.

Please see Amy for more information. Thanks!
