ELL Toolkits

Dear MYP Teachers,

Please return your ELL toolkit to either Ruth or the Library before Tuesday next week. This will enable us to update the name charts for next school year. They are all in blue plastic folders and have a barcode.

Thanks very much!

Important update on Clearance Procedures & Year Books for leaving or absent students

Hi Teachers,

Just an update that as parents are not allowed on campus to support our leaving students we have simplified the process this semester.

This message below + the link has gone out to all leaving families.

You all know that our Year Book is a super important memento for all our students. If you can make sure on the last day that those absent students also get a book signed by their friends, that will be much appreciated. Put a sticker with their name on the outside, and if you already have intel on who might be able to take it home for them – add that name or pass it on as appropriate.

Please leave those Year Books either in Admissions/Reception or with Weiwei and we will do our best to get them despatched over the holidays.

Any questions just drop by and see us or send an email to: admissions@nanjing-school.com

“Dear Parents,

Unfortunately as you all know, this year our parents are not able to come onto campus to complete the Clearance Form.

To ensure that your children are able to obtain their final school records, reports and deposits (if applicable) we would like you to fill out this simplified form – one form per student.

Please click on this link below : Clearance Form information for parents

Kindly make sure you have no library books outstanding and that any balances with Chartwells are settled before you leave Nanjing.

There is very important information in this link on how to get the final reports and documents for your child or children during the final week.

We will be very sad to see you leave and wish you safe onward journey wherever you are heading.

Stay safe, well and happy and keep in touch with your friends here at NIS.

Kind regards

Sue N

Managebac Level III

Managebac Training

Managebac Level III training will be offered today from 1300 in D218. (Note: You must complete Level II training and the accompanying quiz in order to take Level III). We will be offering a couple more of these sessions next week before we finish.

The instructional portion of the training will be around 20-30 minutes, but Cindy and Joe will be available for the duration of the lunch break to answer questions and facilitate deeper dives. All MS/US teachers must attend at least one session prior to the end of the school year (and before taking any other levels of Managebac training). Level III will cover the following:

Communications – an overview and light dip into how messaging works in Managebac in terms of communicating with students, parents and teachers (a bit different than Veracross).

Teachers will be able to:

  1. Send Task reminders
  2. Send Grade posting notifications
  3. Send Year Group notifications
  4. Understand the difference between notifications and sending email notices
  5. Understand what messages look like from the Student and Parent side

We look forward to hosting you in D218 at 1300! Special thanks to Danny for the use of his classroom.

Gamers Needed!

Hello colleagues!

My G8 Game designers need you and your students to play-test the games they have made.

In the interests of not overcrowding, we can have a combination of kids in my space and in yours.

We need approximately 45 students to test our 18 games.

When: Friday 12th June

Time: Block 4 (Approximately 12:00 noon or a bit after)

Who: Any students in Grades 4-9

We have 2 game designers who need kids with Minecraft on their computer (up to 6 kids). If you could specify that you have a Minecraft player, that would be really helpful!

Please let me know by email if you are interested in playing games during block 4 on Friday.

Thanks so much!

Sonya
