PTA Autumn Festival

Autumn Festival Update

– The PTA is now able to welcome enrolled students AND their siblings (who may be enrolled at other schools) to the Autumn Festival. Also, all children of teachers are now able to attend 🥳🥳🥳!
– It is a strong preference that all adults wear their NIS ID tag at Autumn Festival – if you have an NIS ID tag, please wear it. See information below if you require a NIS ID.
– We must meet additional requirements, including collecting a complete list of attendees. You can help us by collecting tickets prior to the event. Parents will be allowed on campus to get tickets in the next 2 weeks at the following times: 10:00am – 12:00pm Monday-Friday. On Wednesday October 21st, tickets will be available for most of the day during 3-Way Conferences. On Wednesday October 28th, tickets will be available at the PTA Coffee Morning. Unfortunately it is not possible to sell tickets during DropOff and PickUp. Every attendee must have a ticket – Adults & Children less than 3 years old are free, children are 50¥.
– Pumpkins for the Pumpkin Carving Contest will be available from Monday 26th – Thursday 29th 10:00 – 12:00. Please get in quickly to secure your pumpkin!
– This is a cash-only event.
– This community event is only possible with the help from our community! It is the expectation that each family will have one adult volunteer for approximately one hour. Please join the volunteer group below. You can access SignUp Genius to help at the event!

How to get an NIS ID:
Go to Reception between 10:00 am – 12:00 pm over the next 2 weeks. If this is not possible, you can email a passport-style photo to Annie at anniewang@nanjing-school.com, including your child’s name and Grade. The badges may take a few days to print – please take this into account!

Gender Equality Survey

Hi Everyone,

My name is Lucy Stevens from Grade 7.
I am in the Reduced Inequality service group, but I am especially working on gender stereotypes and how they can affect others.
Please take a short amount of time to complete these short surveys.
I have created 2 surveys:
One for grades 3-5: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/93BZFVR
One for grades 6-10: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/93MP3WM
In these surveys I have asked, about what people think about gender stereotypes and their experiences with it.

Advisors, could you please encourage your students to take this survey. Thanks a lot for your time.

Regards,

Lucy

Leaving students’ information – please pass onto Admissions

Here in Admissions we are always sorry to hear of families leaving us and returning home or moving on.

However, we need this information to be able to offer places to other prospective students who are eager to join in Semester 2.

If you get any intel from the parents on Wednesday at the Three Way Conferences or any other times – please pass it onto us :

admissions@nanjing-school.com or drop by our office.

We can then follow up with the parents from this end.

Even if it is unconfirmed – it is still helpful.

Thanks  from the Admissions Team

Student Activity Supervision Opportunities

We need you!!!!! Please consider supervising one of these experiences as your Student Activity commitment for the year.

  • We are looking for a member of the teaching faculty to support our Skates, Blades and Board Student Activity. You don’t need to know how to skate but you will have to be actively involved in helping students put on their equipment and help pick them up when they fall. You will get to work with the awesome Cheryl on Thursdays after school. Starts Nov 2 and finishes Dec 17.

  • Homework Club/Reading Club Supervision. We need an adult on Mondays and another one on Wednesdays to help supervise primary school students in the library as they wait for their 4.20 sports activity to start. 1 vacancy on Monday and 1 vacancy on Wednesday. We may get a couple of student volunteers to help out as well.

  • Ting Ting School. We need an adult to supervise this service group that works with children with hearing challenges.  There are a few in school meetings and 4 Saturdays for the whole school year. This is usually a CAS project run and led by grade 11 and 12 students. Meeting time to be decided by students. Starts Monday, Oct 19 and finishes Dec 16.

For these and other amazing opportunities to give our students a more balanced lifestyle, please come find me in the Activities Office or my classroom D229.
