Year: 2021

Loaner Computers and Chargers (Students and Staff)

Please note that if you have borrowed a loaner computer or charger from the IT Department, we need it back by Wednesday, 16 June 2021 (unless you have made special arrangements for summer and signed the loaner responsibility contract). If we do not receive it by this date, we will be invoicing you for the full replacement cost of the laptop, charger or both as we will consider it no longer “loaned” but owned and need to replace it in our inventory. Please contact Ms. Olivia Wen to arrange for checking it back in with our office.

Thank you!

G8 Wellness Today

Hi Grade 8,

Please go to the LGR in block 1 for your Wellness class today. All Grade 8 should be there together. See you there!

Secure Your Personal Accounts

Yesterday there occurred the largest email/password leak to date, where 8.4 Billion passwords and emails were made available to the public. Read more about the story and what this means here.

If you want to skip to the main points, I copy them below:

What to do if your password was leaked?

If you suspect that one or more of your passwords may have been included in the RockYou2021 collection, we recommend taking the following steps in order to secure your data and avoid potential harm from threat actors:

  • Use our personal data leak checker and leaked password checker to see if your data has been leaked in this or other breaches.
  • If your data has been compromised, make sure to change your passwords across your online accounts. You can easily generate complex passwords with our strong password generator or consider using a password manager.
  • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on all of your online accounts.
  • Watch out for incoming spam emails, unsolicited texts, and phishing messages. Don’t click on anything that seems suspicious, including emails and texts from senders you don’t recognize.

Final checkout for summer

Due to a last-minute flurry of parent permissions coming in after school on Wednesday, please allow your students to check out books for summer before break Thursday morning if they still haven’t done so. You can check for names on this list

Thanks!

Reminder about Clearance Procedures & Year Books for our Leaving Students

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder that the Clearance Process is now handled via email to the parents of our leaving students. There are no paper forms for students to get signed off during their final week.

Parents will be asked to check with Chartwells/Library/IT and Finance to make sure that everything is clear.

We have also informed them how to retrieve historical reports & Seesaw portfolios etc

Transcripts and leaving documents will be handed over at the Centre Reception on the last morning once we have checked that everything has been successfully signed off.

You all know that our Year Book is a super important memento for all our students. If you can make sure on the final morning that those students who left earlier also get a book signed by their friends, that will be much appreciated. Put a sticker with their name on the outside, and if you already have intel on who might be able to take it home for them – add that name or pass it on as appropriate.

Please leave those Year Books either in Admissions/Reception or with Weiwei and we will do our best to get them despatched over the holidays.

Any questions just drop by and see us or send an email to: admissions@nanjing-school.com

Thank you everyone for your support, many kindnesses and friendship – it has been a pleasure working with you all.
